Fantastic food and ambiance. Fun place to go, just make reservation 30 days in advance if possible.

We went in with very high expectations and Chez Panisse met every one. One dish brought tears to my husband's eyes. Simple, but exquisite, pure flavors in the cooking, friendly responsive and knowledgable service, romantic, quiet and relaxed ambiance. Our dinner took three hours; we intend to return for another special occasion.

Ingredients shine as nowhere else in every Chez Panisse dish. Back to basics without much innovation. Dining room is cramped.

Classic ! This is the way that people ought to eat an elegant meal. It is paced and portions are exactly right. The service was attentive but not fussy. We went into the kitchen and visited with the chefs. I cannot imagine a better way to have a great meal with friends.
