Simply put, we were enchanted. My wife and I each had the 5-course meal with wine pairings, being careful to make different choices at each course. Each course satisfied. As an added bonus, we met the famous chef as we were leaving (at midnight). He was gracious and charming and had a good sense of humor about "losing" on the top chef masters show (he came in 3rd). A great and memorable night!
Excellant - we had just arrived in San Francisco and this was our first restaurant. Had the tasting menu with wine pairings. Highly recommend this place. Deserves its Michelin rating.
For the serious foodie, or a special occassion, Chef Hubert Keller delivers in every way. In the oppulent romantic decor, with immpecable staff, you will be served such delights as grilled watermelon with caviar or a mushroom soup disguised as a cappuccino. The food and wine pairing made our christmas eve a real night to remember.
The experience we had was flawless. From the well designed wine pairings and the sumptous creations from the kitchen, to the impeccable service, our evening was magical....best french in San francisco! Marcus Garcia is a true expert in his field. Cheers!
I really like the food here. There are, as almost always, a few dishes leaving you going "meh..." but by and large you can see the great care and precision put into the food. On another note, while generally good service, there was an inexplicably rude/pompous/RUDE waiter on one occasion who I would let go immediately if I were the manager. Didn't order a side of judgement and don't need your disdain, and can do without the attitude.
