Really good food. Atmosphere is somewhat dated. Worth the visit for Japanese style seafood.

Flying Fish provided a unique menu. The combinations of flavor provide an experience that you won’t create at home. In many cities the restaurant will be a special feature, but not in Carmel. There are to many superior options in town for visitor with only a few nights.

Food service - Shabu Shabu at the table was excellent - The service was great. Very warm good feeling from genial hosts. Cozy spot. Returned and still great. The Beef Shabu was good but go with the fish - it is better. Price of meal is a bargain for Carmel. Make reservations!

Best salmon fish tacos ever. Really good clam chowder. Very small seating area inside, nice patio outside. Wait staff is friendly and helpful. Outside "to go" window is a time saver if you want to eat at home or on the beach.

High expectations because this small, tucked-away fish restaurant in Carmel was highly praised by locals. Highly touted dishes didn't stack up. Mediocre at best. Won't go again.
