Wonderful, creative, exceptionally well-prepared food in a cozy (but not crowded) setting. Best food we've had over several weekend trips to San Francisco, better than the better-known "big name" places (well, big name with similar pricing. If you're running with the $100/plate crowd, I can't help you.) It's this sort of oh-my-goodness-that's-good "neighborhood" restaurant that sets SF apart from where you live--or at least from where we live.
Significantly more than a "good neighborhood joint". Adventurous menu incorporating fresh local ingredients, charming ambiance, expansive wine list, and knowledgeable and accommodating wait staff. I wish it were in Gloucester, Massachusetts!
Good neighborhood joint. The food was good. The server was fun and the service was good. I did not love being seated upstairs because all the fumes from the kitchen wafted up and saturated the air, my hair and clothing. Don't get me wrong it all smelled good but it was a little overwhelming.
Hadn't been back in a few years - and it hasn't missed a beat. If I lived in the hood I'd be here all the time. Food and service are both excellent.
An amazing find in the heart of a residential section of Russian Hill. The food was outstanding - duck breast was juicy, the side of brussel sprouts were glorious, the starters were innovative (grilled sardine, gnocchi), and the dessert was well-worth all the calories.
