Try not to be put off by the reception station - not a fair representation of the restaurant - food was delightful - and I like the over all look of the place.

Chef Mark Dommen is a real carnivore - his meat dishes are fabulous and servings are huge! Appetizers and soups are top notch, get the smoked trout with potato pancake (a special, but usually available). Skip the Cesar salad, also desserts are not quite at the same level as the entrees. But One Market has really reached new highs under Dommen. Still not Boulevard, but finally good enough to be real competition.

I'm worried about them here. In the 90s, through 2006, I went often and was blown away every time. But the last time I went, I kept asking for things, and finding that they were out of them; the chef's special beef; the featured wine; my second and I think third (!) choice for a featured wine. Four things! The service was really nice, but the things they offered to replace what I had wanted were underwhelming. I hope they aren't going down.
