Rivoli is simply one of the best restaurants in the Bay Area. Most restaurants have off nights, but Rivoli is consistently good. Even after 15 years, it never disappoints. I've been to Chez Panisse (both the downstairs restaurant and the cafe upstairs) and Rivoli is as good, if not better. I feel equally comfortable at Rivoli in my denim skirt with sandals, as well as my sequined cocktail dress with 4-inch heels.

Very tight tables, okay if you enjoy hearing the conversation of diners seated on top of you. (the video was staged to look like more space) CANNOT even come close to Chez Panisse - I don't know if the comments from people comparing it to Chez Panisse have ever dined there. Nothing that any foodie would rate very high.... If you're in the mood for "comfort food" cuisine that is not always consistant and Birkenstocks this is the place.

Food less time we went seemed a little less special... but it's still a great experience. Well trained staff and smooth operation.
