It's a great, casual place to grab a tasty and hearty meal. The people are cool and friendly. It's a nice change of pace.

Located in a very hip old section of downtown Santa Ana, Memphis offers an interesting selection of "soul food"...although it has a definite cajun feel to it as well. Serving sizes were somewhat inconsistent, but there is definitely an emphasis on food quality. Skip the meatloaf and eggplant stacks. Goat cheese salad was great as was gumbo. Wine list somewhat pedestrian. Overall, a nice food alternative in a cool setting.

The food was very, very disapointing, the decor isn't, and the old tables are pushed to close together. The service is, well what service? We waited 35 minutes for a server even after we asked a server to help us. Won't go back.

wonderful pulled pork sandwich. good brunch. fun atmosphere. The darkness/low lights adds to the feeling of a smoky southern joint although the only smoke you'll smell is from the BBQ
