This is a fun place to go with it's history, basic Italian fare and surprisingly good specials (the halibut w/spinach = good). It's better to use the valet than to risk a $50 ticket by parking in the neighborhood, even at night or off hours. The Magic show put on by the Magic Apple (and various magicians like Michael Rangel) is great upstairs. However, arrive early and order asap as there's only one waiter and a limited fare upstairs.
old fashioned itaian that's nice good enough
Good food, nice ambiance... who cares about Robert Blake...
It's your run of the mill, archetypal Italian spaghetti and meatball place. A lot of the food tastes like it came from a can. The service is friendly but clueless. The jazz on the weekends is a nice touch, but the crowd is quite stodgy.
Tony Soprano would love this place, their chopped salad is excellent - most dishes are average but the place is so much fun you don't notice.
