We stumbled onto this little hole in the wall several years ago when we were visiting New York. The food was good and the pie was excellent. It had a neighborhood haunt atmosphere. We couldn't wait to go back. Unfortunately someone must have said it was time to grow up and fit in.The quality of the food has diminished along with its charm. It was probably our expectation that it would always be the same that made it more of a disappointment.

Food was a bit better than described in these pages, fine for a decent lunch. Noise level was intolerable and it wasn't due to kids. The worst aspect was the service, which was unimaginably bad. Reservations meant nothing, service once we were seated was non-existent.

It is not comfort and is hardly food. Its one redeeming quality was its once child friendly atmosphere but they are now loud and clear about NO STROLLERS. Bubby's is a poor use of a good street corner location in a neighborhood with much to offer. Don't be fooled by the quaint decor or what may remain of its undeserved hype. Walk away in any direction and you'll end up with better -- even if you end up at the McD's on Chamber. Seriously.

Overhyped and overpriced! 20 dollar omelettes in a place too parsimonious to turn on the AC mid summe!! The no CC policy on weekends an exquisite way to penalize the locals who somehow tolerate this somewhat slovenly haunt. Open 24 hours - yet read the fine print, no food between 7 and 9 on weekends. The joys abound! Well souced organic, locally raised food and grass fed beef a draw but not enough.
