I walked right in, grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered a bistro burger with fries and a McSorely's Ale. All served promptly with friendly warm service. Of course this was a Sunday afternoon, but it was a pleasant experience overall. The burger was sort of big, juicy and cooked medium and tasty. Fries are average. Was good, but not the best burger in NYC, by a long shot.

Great straightforward & consistent burger in NYC. Though it can get cramped and oftentimes there's a considerable wait, this is a great neighborhood spot with McSoreley's on draft. Fun for late night dining though the lack of credit card service is annoying these days.

Great place to go for a burger and a beer, just be prepared to wait in a cramped bar area during peak times. The fries are nothing special but the burgers and beers here are very delicious and affordable (although the beer mugs are probably only about 6 oz so you can go through twice as many as you normally would). A West Village classic.

We waited about 20 minutes to be seated. My burger was delivered medium rare, as requested. It was rich and juicy, seated on a soft, flavorful bun and topped with crisp bacon. The fries were unexceptional. Our servers did not deliver our beers correctly and had to be reminded that we ordered some chili. The chili was prepared with lots of ground beef and was tasty. I would return for the affordable burger, served in a colorful atmosphere.
