refined and tasty dishes, great wines, very consistent over the years, I was never disappointed once. The decor is warm and contemporary, service very attentive. Marco NYC
Had a lovely experience here. Rabbit Spaetzle was like velvet and perfectly seasoned. The atmosphere is a simple, but sophisticated and elegant, country feeling that befits the food. The dishes themselves feel homey but complex and are a pleasant introduction to Austrian fare; clearly refined .but honest to the tradition. Server was lovely, easy in her skin with thoughtful recommendations. Lovely Austrian wines.
The food, drink and service were all excellent. Unfortunately as we were finishing our dessert and after dinner drinks, the hostess asked us to remove ourselves so that new guests could be seated. She offered us seats at the bar. Very ungracious. If there is a time limit on tables, then that should be made clear when one is making a reservation. If there is no time limit, then guests should be allowed to leave when they are through.
Delectable. The main courses are uniformly well-prepared, well-seasoned, and pleasingly presented -- very tasty. The spaetzle is especially wonderful, and the salads are a welcome change from the usual dressing-drenched mix of greens. The Julian Schnabel paintings make the decor special even for NYC, and the staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. This is an international top restaurant.
i am austrian, this place is not.
