This is one of the best spots in Manhattan. The food was out of this world, affordable for what you're getting and just provided for a pleasant evening. Its a bit cozy and hopefully you aren't seated next to your arch-enemy, but we didn't wait nearly as long as told, wines by the glass are generous and affordable, suggestions from the waitstaff were all impeccable, and its not supposed to be Babbo. This is a rusitc sublime gem of a restaurant.
Grabbed a pair of seats at the bar during a busy lunch, great service, and great food! The pork shoulder was very good, as was the squash ravioli. Its a tight squeeze if you dont have a table, but worth it! Will return.
I was disappointed. Vegetarian antipasto was good, but not great. Pork main course was boring. On the other hand, the service was exceptionally friendly and efficient. On a second visit, I thought that the food was better--pasta was excellent. Still, I don't see what the fuss is about. Oh yes, the service was just great this visit also.
There is that annoying we can't seat you until the entire party is here nonsense. If anybody in the party is late...you're all out of luck...but the food is good and very authentic.
Didn't have to wait nearly as long as expected. The fresh pastas even better than the dry. Specials very special. Crowded but offset by great staff.
