It was costly. Everything is a la carte. The food was good and uniquely prepared as well.

We've been going to Nobu Downtown since it opened 16 years ago. We've been going to Nobu Uptown since it opened a few years ago. We like both equally. Never once, in all those years, have we every had an experience that disappoints. In fact, in approximately 150 visits, generally as a group of 4 (600 meals or so), I don't remember ever sending anything back for any reason. How do they do this? Bravo Richie. Bravo Hiro.Order 6 or 8 items and enjoy

recession? you won't know it by the crowds. Service very attentive and knowledgeable. One of the new favorites is the tuna tartar tacos, you can't only eat one. Old standbys still great, miso cod, jalapeno sashimi, squid pasta. Decor stands the test of time. Still a very special place which continues to come up with creative, delicious menu additions.

My local Japanese restaurant has better sushi than Nobu. Ok, you probably don't believe me now; you will after trying the insipid offerings with lame rice. DO GO for the black cod with miso, yellowtail with jalapeno or crab tacos but be forewarned, you'll drop a couple of hundred & walk away hungry. Tiny $14 desserts are a complete rip off as are $16 specialty drinks. If you go with ugly people they'll banish you to the back room. Great service.

It's been a couple of years since my last visit here. Quite frankly I still don't know what all the fuss is about. Dark, dim decor, ok service and sushi you can find 50 other restaurants in the NY Metro area. I guess if the "beautiful people" eat somewhere the sheep will follow!
