Indian food for someone who doesn't like Indian food!
Had dinner there last Friday. The tasting menu was outstanding. The service was excellent. Tabla continues to be one of my favorite restaurants in NY City.
The place is nice, atmosphere awesome but the food is not real Indian . there're just a few traces of Indian spices in the dishes.
I don't like Indian restaurants, but love union square company and had to get this off the list and glad I did. This Chef makes Indian dishes in New American Family style. They throw all the apps down at once. Started with chuntneys very nice, I would pass on Sushami nothing special, then Crab cake well cooked didn't think went well with guac, Goat cheese beet salad delicious, Mushroom App suprizingly great, and finished with Duck awesome!
Not your typical Indian restaurant so don't expect the curry and naan you find elsewhere, but that's why you're here! Best to order a number of dishes to eat family style. Great choice for a business dinner.
