We had dinner on the patio overlooking Mandalay's beach and cabanas. It was a rare August evening below 100 degrees. The food was very very good, I had the Sauteed Jumbo Shrimp over red/white rice, it was soooo flavorful I would have sipped the sauce with a spoon. My friend had the Pescado Veracruzano, her eyes rolled back after the first bite she enjoyed it so much. The margarites are small and our waiter was iffy BUT overall it was great!

No substance. Our party of four for lunch was mostly disappointed with a modern and stylized restaurant on the approach to the Shark reef. Its an opportunity place. Not convinced of the fresh food claim with the dry and tasteless Caesars Salad w/ seasoned Chicken. Ceviche specials were small portions for a high price with hothouse tomatoes in Aug. Bland beans and rice don't hold up to the fancy descriptions in the menu. Guacamole was good.

With all of the accolades this place has received that the restaurant effectively markets, I was expecting a lot more. I fail to see what all of the fuss was about. While there's nothing inherently wrong with the food, It's mediocre Mexican at best.

Superior and imaginative Mexican with more than adequate service. Seating on the heated patio overlooking the Mandalay Bay wave pool provides a pleasant view. My wife and I were both very impressed with our dishes, which were creative and perfectly seasoned. The fresh guacamole is good but less than great.

Went last Summer - hopefully it's better now. Expected SO much more! Cold but burnt food!? Everything seemed reheated, maybe the Calif location is better... afraid to give it another go.... Even the food they sell at Whole foods is pretty Mediocre....
