It is a unique place in every aspect, beautiful decor, quiet with elegance, service is professional with a personal touch. The "foie gras" is the star of the menu. As a visitor from New York, this place is the place not to miss if you are visiting New Orleans
Top rate establishment. Started with foie gras creme brulee, out of this world. Wife had shrimp napoleon, good marriage of New Orleans flavors and haut-cuisine. Duck (with more foie gras) and Lamb entrees were also excellent. Service was attentive without being overbearing; the waiter was able to pair wines aptly without need of the sommelier. What happened to Nolalady? Just a bad night? One of the best meals in NOLA in the last two years.
I cannot figure out how this is rated so high in Zagat. As someone who lives in New Orleans and dined at spectacular restaurants like August, Gautreau's, and Bayona- I highly suggest you do not waste your time or money at Cuvee. By far the worst "fine dining" experience I have had in New Orleans... seriously, you are better off going to Applebee's.
Superb restaurant, will hold its own w/ my other favorites, Stella and Bayona
Our osso bucco was so tough and dry it must have been cooked a week ago and left out on the stove all week. There were six of us and our tab came to approximately $100 per person with wine, tax and tip. We would have been better served to have paid $4.00 for a Big Mac and fries @ McDonalds ; it would have had more flavor. We normally agree with Zagat ratings. What happened? Did Cuvee lose its chef?
