I went back to Jack Stack after years of avoiding it because someone gave me a gift card and I was pleasantly suprised. The food at the Crossroads location was very good and the portions were very generous. I will now recommend it to others whereas I used to steer people away from it to other BBQ.

This was my second time to eat here. This is the BEST barbecue that I have ever had. I've eaten in Memphis, Texas, Georgia, Oklahoma, and numerous other "Big Named Restaurants" in KC, and none have compared to this food. The brisket and the burnt ends are to die for. The beans and the potatoes were surprisingly great too. The ambiance here is great! If you are in KC and want barbecue, you must go here to experience the BEST!

I was excited to finally eat at Jack Stack since hearing so much about it. I forgot what I ordered exactly, but it was on the order of short ribs. When I began to eat it i found it was at least half pure fat. I was dissapointed. I spoke to the server about it and she dismissed me with a "that's barbecue" as if you get what you get. Needless to say, I left hungry and dissapointed. I will stick with Smokestack, never dissapointed there. 22nd St

This is a "must try" when in KC, as every local I asked confirmed. Nice atmosphere and decor from the typical KC BBQ joint. Service was very good. The BBQ is great (I also took sauce home to CA), but don't miss their steak, which is as good as it gets anywhere, anytime, anyplace barring none. Oh, and the beans....!

A cavernous place that focuses on its core. Barbeque. Much more diner friendly than Arthur Bryant’s, the food is reasonable priced and good, the glass of wine generous and the waitress had a recommended wine to complement the BBQ, a good selection of beer. Service was prompt and friendly. The menu offered alterative for non-aficionado and the vegetable kabob was well received.
