We had our dinner and a bottle of nice Cabernet in the bar while listening to Ronnie David at the Piano. The food was excellent, beautifully prepared. After the crowd cleared out of the bar area it was much easier to hear and relax. The staff was attentive, not overbearing with great service. Not a cheap eat, but worth every penny.

If you're looking for good food in Houston, you're going to have to look hard. But Pappas Bros. Steakhouse certainly is a diamond in a city of coal. Although the portions are ridiculous (you're in Texas, after all), the steaks are cooked to perfection and you'll enjoy salads that aren't made of iceberg lettuce. The wine list is rather impressive, as is the extensive digestif menu. For Houston, this is it.

Great steakhouse now that they've banned cigar smoking. Too expensive for anything but a special occasion or expense account.
