Appetizers, salads and deserts were outstanding and a very good wine selection was recommended. Entrees did not meet our lofty expectations and were disappointed. They weren't horrible, just boring and not outstanding in any way--and given the hype, the prior courses, they simply flat and uninspired. I'd go again, because everything except our entrees were very good and I'd give them one more chance. One.

I wound up going here during a 10 hour fiasco by Northwest Airlines that left me and my business partner stranded at the KC airport. To avoid going nuts (and hungry-the airport is worst than most when it comes to food), we took a $50 taxi to American. Others are correct-the decor is very dated, but the food is quite good, the wine list superb and the staff highly trained. We indulged in 5 courses which was 3 courses too much. Worth the trip.

Food and service rival that of the finest restaurants in Chicago, 3 course menu selection was plenty. Decor resembles that of an old tired grand entrance of a hotel with highly polished brass that conflicts with all the wood. But don't let it phase you, if you have a refined palet, or want to explore what New American food is about, this place will impress.

This is one of the best restaurants in the country, not only in Kansas City. Service to a perfect T and a meal you will remember for years.
