The Dakota isn't a place you go for the food. You go for the entertainment. Having said that, the food is serviceable and the service friendly. The jazz is usually great.

One of the top spots in the Twin Cities for BOTH food AND terrific jazz. The food includes a number of wonderful favorites (like tenderloin) and specials. Even if you just stop in for the music (a perfectly reasonable thing to do), try one of their amazing desserts! All of this is served up in close proximity to some of the best jazz in the Cities. The Dakota is an intimate and delicious venue for all jazz-lovers (and food-lovers too)

Number one, Dakota is about Jazz, and it is top notch. Our meals were very good, and service was equally good. After dinner, they moved us to an excellent stage edge table. Excellent outdoor patio too.

Every entree I have ever had at Dakota has been delicious beyond expection. The service is great to top it off.
