Avoid the crowds and still get a taste…take a food tour! We had a sampling on the food tour and it was traditional buffet food that was good. Mrs. Wilkes is the real deal. Locals also said to order off the menu and not get the buffet. Of course you can still visit her two shops!
Even though I don't like Paaaaaaoooooooooooolaaaaaahhhhhhhh anymore, I still liked her restaurant somewhat. The long wait wasn't great but the food was rich and good

Strictly for the tourists.
Big disappointment in this buffet restaurant. Mediocre service, rude hostess staff and marginal southern food (could find it better in 100 other places in Georgia alone for a quarter of price). Even Paula Dean herself serving us dinner does not justify the cost of this meal. Save your money at eat at Mrs. Wilkes for lunch in Savannah. Great food and half the price.
