To start with we decided to give Arterra a try during restaurant week. What a MISTAKE!We started out our experience in the lounge with a pear martini that was the beginning of what was to be downhill from that point! The hostess seated us for dinner and we sat at our seats for twenty minutes before we were even greeted by anyone. My main dish was ice cold and my wifes was luke warm.!Service is SLOW,Food a "C" at best. Go to Marketfora great meal

We both had stellar breakfasts: omelettes were just about perfect, amazingly good potatoes, good coffee, good service. Worth a visit if you're staying in the area.

Arterra has gone through some chef changes as of late, The first head chef left to open Market in Del Mar and his replacement Brian Pekarcik (who worked at Babo in NY) left a few weeks prior to our meal. The Restaurant decided to give the reigns to Sous chef Jason Maitland. In my opinion hes doing a stellar job. We had the Chef's tasting menu and it was great. High lite was a take on french onion soup with braised short rib and truffle. I'm writi

Had to cast in my vote on this one, since it has been ranked alongside Pamplemousse Grill, Wine Sellar, etc. NOT A CHANCE being as good as the ones mentioned. Fook OK, but service was AWFUL. Reported it to the manager.

Arterra is the restaurant at the Marriot Hotel just north of the infamous merge of highway 5 and 805 (21 lanes!) at the northern border of San Diego within the city of Del Mar. This restaurant has one of the best chef's in San Diego, Brian Pekarcik. The appetizers are creative and delicious. The steak salad is the biggest seller at lunch and for good reason. Service is excellent. Do not miss lunch here.
