The one, the only -- "404" may have its devotees, but no trip to Paris is complete with stopping by Chez Omar. The Couscous Royale is indeed a feast fit for a king, a genuine carnivore's delight, with tasty, tender slabs of beef, veal, chicken all practically falling off the bone. Another place where a solo diner can still feel like part of the fun! I may ask that, once I'm gone, some of my ashes be scattered Chez Omar!
What a DISAPPOINTMENT! Can it get any blander. Thank God for Harissa. The vegetables were "soggy and droopy". Meats were tasteless. If it wasn't for my friends vegetable broth that I shared, it would have been too dry to eat. Go to some of the more Authentic neighborhood cous-cous places, you'll do much better. FYI, the desserts are sold by the pieces at €3 each, it can add up. the only thing worth eating. Service good though!
For Moroccan inspired French food, this busy establishment in Le Marais offers incredible value. Our table ordered three cous-cous dishes: lamb, beef & chicken. For each, the succulent, perfectly cooked meat was falling off the bone. The vegetables, served family style & infused with a heady mix of aromatic spices, were delicious as was our lone order of steak au poivre avec frites. Get there early or get in line. No credit cards or reservations.
Superior Moraccan food as a reasonable price. I returned twice within two weeks.
