Slow and rude service. You have to beg for a fork and they get into an argument with you if you insist. (I couldn't eat with my hands because i didn''t like the spongy bread.) I'm certainly not going back.

Very reliable and delicious. Been eating here for 10 years. Great food., Best Ethiopian around (maybe outside Dukem, in DC). Try the Tibs Do Wat (boneless chicken with tomato, onion and pepper.) Very casual service, but with a smile. Same wait staff for the last 10 years, at least. Get your check when you get your food if you are a hurry.

Food is surprising; best I have had in this country. The decor is "modern hovel" and the service is glacial. But worth it.

Although upon first impression it looks more like a seedy dive than a decent restaurant, Abyssinia's food is excellent, and well worth the wait that you'll likely endure (wait staff are friendly but seem to run on Ethiopian time). Unfortunately there are no Ethiopian beers among their beer choices. Still, give it a try! Very casual, reasonably priced, and they can adjust the spice level to your personal tastes.

A friendly, relaxed place with a good assortment of authentic Ethiopian dishes. The service is "immigrant-casual", but always friendly. The dishes are sometimes served a bit on the warm (eg too-cool) side. Moderate prices. If you've never had Ethiopian food be aware they don't use utensils, rather one uses unleavened bread to grasp the food by hand. A pleaseant change of pace and wonderful way to share a meal. They also lack Ethiopian beer
