Pat's- King of Sucks! After watching B. Flay "Throw Down" with Tony Luke, I packed the family up in NY for a Cheesesteak run to Philly. Research put Pat's at the top of many lists, making it my first choice to try. Bad Move-Service and ambiance, unheated outside seating, paucity of utensils and an old bucket of hot sauce, gave the feel of a penitentiary. Meat was unchopped and bland; pulled out on first bite. Best is Jim's on South st.

Sorry, but they are just too nasty for me. The steaks are nice sandwiches, but when I asked for a bag so that I could take my order home, the man actually threw it at me!

The inventor of the cheese steak, and all its variations, and still worthy to style itself the King of Steaks.

I am from NY and definitely not a cheese steak aficionado but recently went to both Genos and Pat's. Neither blew me away but I'd give the taste edge to Pat's. Pats also had more meat and a better roll. The hot sauce at Genos is scary hot.

A better menu that accross the street at the other steak place, beside that it is the same old tired story, rude service, dirty tables, but hey, this is Philly.
