Really good Indian food. A very pleasant place to have dinner in Old City when you need a "fix" of Indian. The buffet lunch is OK, but while quite inexpensive, not nearly as pleasurable as a more leisurely order-from-the-menu dinner. I've eaten there ever since it opened and keep coming back. Another of my favorite places to take friends from out of town. A great place for a spicy dinner before or after a movie or during First Fridays.
The food is exactly what I expect from an Indian restaurant, and pretty tasty. The portions are generous, and they'll adjust the spiciness to your liking. The service isn't the best--drinks sometimes take a little longer to be delivered, and it's a long wait for the check unless you ask. The food makes up for the service, though.
I will not be going back to this restaurant... the naans were burnt, the tandoori mixed grill was dry and not fresh at all... the lamb vindaloo was probably the most edible there... i had 4 other people with me, and they all agree with this review.
This is my all-time favorite Indian restaurant -- even my mother, who is afraid of trying new foods, couldn't get enough! Although the ambiance is rather formal, the wonderful food (especially the chicken tikka masala and the vegetable samosas) makes it a fun place to eat.
The best Indian food I have had in a long time. Generous portions and curteous service made my the meal particularly enjoyable. Not as crowded as I would expect on a Friday night. Definitely would go back.
