The food was fine and the service very good. Much of the menu would not be my favorite, but what we ordered was prepared with care and was worthy of favorable comment. The pricey menu must be keeping people away, as it was not crowded on a Wednesday evening..
This used to be one of my favorite places in Philly...until Starr took over. The food has gone down hill dramatically and the server could have been hired directly from a TGI Friday's. I ordered a caviar course and was told that the chef could not even make bilinis. The only thing that hasn't changed is the price tag...unfortunatley it just isn't worth it anymore.
Special occasion restaurant extraordinaire. The sea bream tasted as though it had been swimming moments before. All of the food was beyond reproach. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, helpful, there when we needed him and gone when we didn't. He suggested the Tanqueray Rangpur cocktail and we haven't stopped drinking it yet.
Not recommended. This spectacular Bank-turned-Restaurant space has always been one of the prettiest and most deafening restaurants in the city. But the great food made up for that persistent ringing in the ears over the next few days. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has fallen dramatically over the past year, and given the high price, one can only conclude that they are resting on past laurels.
From the first moment we made our reservation with the perky Amy to the last when our waiter Damon said goodbye, this was a perfect evening. The staff was attentive without hovering and even figured out that we were celebrating something and brought a special dessert to our table with a message that said "Congratulations?". The food was fresh and fabulous without being pretentious while the portion sizes meant we left satisfied but not overstuf
