It is absolutely exceptional and definitely the best. I am vegetarian but my friend with whom i go to a lot of good restaurants eats meat. And weve been numerous times to vetri and its always been exceptional. I dont agree with the previous review as i went to daniel and it was very disappoinitng. I was served guacamole as one of my courses and my friend was served exactly what he had specified he did not want. But forget Daniel Vetri is awesome

My wife and I went two Saturdays ago for the tasting menu w/ wine pairing. The service was exceptional, but the food was uninspired and lacked the subtle flavors that should be expected of a dinner costing $200 per head (w/ tip). In addition, the wines were deeply disappointing. I was expecting "wow", but got "good but not great". Sorry, but this emperor has no clothes. Note: My frame of reference is Daniel - NYC and Carlos - suburban Chicago.

It's taken us a long time to get to Vetri, and that's too bad for us. We had the roasted scallops and the charcuterie, followed by the branzino for two, then dessert ... and we asked the servers to match each course with appropriate wines by the glass. Every course was outstanding, the wine pairings were exceptional, and the service was perfect -- wam and attentive without being sycophantic or intrusive. We'll be returning very soon.

I'm jealous. Everybody thinks this is the best place. We had a tasting menu that was so-so. The problem is that they charge the same for so-so as they do for what all the other reviewers got. I can't see investing in this place again. We were very disappointed. I have talked to others who felt the same way, but most love it. Too bad.
