We went on Christmas day with no reservations and had only a 15 minute wait. Very busy but the staff was on their toes. Our server never missed a trick and she was accommodating to all our requests. The signature salad is incredible and made table side with a wonderful combination of flavors with very large portions. The tapas were good by not very inventive or original.
I LOVE THIS WONDERFUL PLACE THE OLDEST AND LARGEST SPANISH RESTAURANT IN THE US- THE FOOD IS FANTASTIC AND THE WAITERS KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING- THEIR LOCATION ON SAND KEY IS MY FAV REST IN THE TAMPA AREA
The food here is not gourmet, so don't expect it to be so. Food is not bad, just not outstanding, but it is fairly priced. However, it is a fun place and when the weather is agreeable, sitting outside provides wonderful people watching opportunities. A good mojito can be had by asking the server to tell the bartender "not too sweet".
Empanadas de Picadillo and Croquetas de Pollo Appetizers were excellent. Filet Mignon "Chacho" had a bourbon sauce that was outstanding. Everyone at my table of 9 enjoyed thier food. We had 4 pitchers of Sangria and decided it was good enough to have one more. Service was very good not stellar. I really enjoyed the flamenco dancers but would go back more for the food than entertanment
The dancers in the evening show offer excellent entertainment at a nominal cover charge. The food is traditional Cuban with unique offerings. Relax and sample great sangria--Enjoy the experience.
