The food was not memorable. The ambiance and service were quite good. I had the tuna which though rare, looked like a couple of gray chucks of fish floating in a flavorless broth.

The food was good but not excellent or rememberable. It is nice sitting outside around the fountain and the bar is upscale and chic. The resturaunt was lacking in any decor or charm. Not worth the hype.

"30somethings" is right: well-dressed 50ish, we were shunted to the worst table in the house, though others were open. Fish was good & composed plates tolerably priced, but if your taste runs to the a la carte menu, prepare to be gouged. Dessert disastrous: malted vanilla creme brulee w/ no hint of malt or vanilla, icy cold beneath the crust, and grainy rather than creamy. Waiter pushy and condescending. Overall: overhyped, overrated, overpriced.

Blacks has changed: The menu has been pared back dramatically with less seafood and more meat but less choice. No more interesting fish just tuna, halibut, trout. The kitchen is not what it was. Octopus app special at $15 was four mini pieces inelegantly plated. Seafood stew entree was WAY overcooked. Wait staff and mgr all under 30 - not pro's. Happy hour noise at 830p overwhelming dining room.
-Lots of empty tables - I don't wonder why.
