Busy, Noisy, that sounds like people are enjoying to me. I must say, that if I want a quiet little place to eat, I stay home. Dolce Vita is all about the people who eat there over and over again. We enjoy ourselves always. The food is very very good and the wine selection has gotten better in the last year. We are lucky to have Dolce Vita right here in Fairfax.
Expensive disappointment: Bread was stale and unappetizing. Sauces seemed fresh from the can. My nine-year-old gets a small plate of pasta with butter at Italian restaurants. For this, Dolce Vita charged as much as a full adult entree. When we asked why, the waiter explained that's just what they do. Nice. Oh, and the bland entrees are priced like full meals served with salads or soups at better nearby Italian restaurants. Avoid.
If you sit by the painted wall-don't look too closely-there may be months old tomato sauce stains there. The whole restaurant seems dirty. The service is surly, the guitar player is beyond annoying and food is just not that good. They sneer if you don't order wine and if you are not a regular-expect to be ignored. The spelling errors on the daily specials menu are the highlight of the meal.
Very small. Gets crowded and noisy.
Good to excellent but the only way to know is to try them all
