We were very disappointed with our last visit to Cafe Hon. Waitress took 15 minutes after we ordered to discover a dish ordered by two people in our four person party was not available and then messed up reorder so that two new dishes came but not the two other dishes originally ordered by others in our party. We were comped for all the dinners but food was mediocre and service was dreadful.

This place is FUN. The night I went there was a recession special of Freddie Mac and cheese. Even better, the dish was tasty. The decor is camp. You can buy Cafe Hon souvenirs -- including a pirate's hook suitable for use on "Talk like a pirate day" (Sep 19th for those of you not in the know) & big hair wigs.

The 3 story pink flamingo is the thing that catches your eye as you're strolling through the bizarre Hampden area. Inside is an interesting theme of the "hons" with fun depictions of ladies in beehive hairdos and oversized glasses. The food is only mediocre and probably not worth the price, but this restaurant with it's prominent flamingo is one of Hampden's gems. Hey hon!

Brunch was fantastic. The eggs benedict with crab was out of this world! The waitress was as slow as molasses, but the meal made up for it.
