This is a small, cozy restaurant and the fillet mignon was one of the best I've ever had. The wine the chef picked for us was not a pricey one, but I definitely loved it.

When the bread rolls arrived at our table burned, we should have taken it as a sign and left. Unfortunately we didn't and were subjected to one of the worst meals I have ever had in my life. A burned tart was followed by charred ('pan seared" on the menu) lamb chops smothered with a revolting sauce. We were finally given the email address of the chef so we could send him our comments as he would not believe the waiter.

Spanish in theme, Brasserie Monte Carlo produces good, interesting dishes served up by a friendly and engaged staff.

Traditional French - but pricey for value

A great hidden brunch spot in Bethesda with splendid home-made bread, great eggs, and tasty provencal fare. The dining room could certainly use a makeover - Provence hasn't even looked like the murals on the wall for 15 years - and smaller things like the loo could use upgrades.
