is the wait and no booking policy worth it? That will depend upon the wait and your mood. The food is sublime, the service is very friendly (almost as if they're feeling guilty about the wait,) and the atmosphere lively. But standing in the drafty entrance area in the middle of a cold winter waiting for the first service to leave is rather irritating. It must be better than I'm describing as we always go back.....ah, the food!

The food here is wonderful. I had foie gras that was heavenly & pasta carbonara that was incredible. Service is fine but don't let them seat you in a place you're not happy with. They'll promise that you'll be moved to decent seats when something opens up & then are shocked if you actually ask to be moved between courses. All in all, a fun, delicious meal but a little too hung up on themselves.

Only slightly better than the vegas outpost, but there's still nothing like the real thing. Service was exemplary and the food was still imaginative and bursting with flavor. We at the discovery menu , and were quite sad we had to pass on the evening's special - a roast suckling pig.
NB. They no longer accept AMEX, which I find kind of a downer.

If you don't want the best food on earth with the smallest fuss possible, this little restaurant is the find of the city. Yes, it's expensive, but it would all be twice as much somewhere else and maybe only half again as good. Quit complaining about the counters and the lack of reservations and simply enjoy a great meal served by people who truly want you to enjoy yourselves.

Overall, shockingly good for a chain restaurant. Crispy langoustine fritter with basil pistou, pig trotter and free range quail stuffed with foie gras and truffled mashed potatoes all sublime and delicious. A wonderful dining experience that is worth every penny. Would go back in a heartbeat. NB: service not nearly as good as in London.
