I was amazed by the shoddy service. (Sauvignon blanc served to us at room temperature, mistake made on the order and wrong meal sent out, long delays and an unbelievably inept restaurant manager). The food was good but not amazing. The barman (possibly the sommelier) downstairs in the small lounge was exceptional (and very knowledgeable about their selection of wine). But how on earth did it get a Michelin Star??? My advice is go to Guilbauds.

Why this restaurant deserves it's strong reputation is beyond me. I have always been disapointed by the quality and the lack of imagination of the food and the awful service that is becoming all to familiar in Dublin's "Top" restuarants. On my last visit my main course of fish was cold, the foie gras was uninspired and my espresso bitter. At the prices that are charged this is simply carless at best. However the restaurant does boast a strong win
