Great for lunch or dinner. The ceiling is hung with hundreds of Parma hams. This place has been around forever and is wildly popular. Be prepared to wait for a table but it is well worth it. Nice wine list also. You should also visit (and Zagat should include) another of the family's restaurants: Osteria di Giovanni which is just around the corner from Il Latini.
Very good food and nice service. No real menu available, but you can trust the waiters.
I ate there last fri. It was great! The best value for my time in Italy! Very friendly staff. We showed up for lunch based on reveiws I read here. The staff just started putting appitizers, anti pasta and wine on the tables...A nervous wife said to the waiter,"we haven't ordered yet" He tells her that they will just keep bring things....& if we do not like ....tell them. Everything was superb! lunch for 4 w/ 4 bottles of wine 130 euro.
Don't let the wait outside dampen your enthusiasm. Once inside it is like being in Mama's kitchen. The food just keeps coming and it is great. However, you have to be persistent if you want the beef more than rare. You'll walk out feeling good.
Excellent food and nice decor. Draws locals as well as tourists. Simple food, but well prepared. We had pasta, veal and rabbit on one trip and bistecca alla fiorintina on another. All very good. Large portions. We will go back!
