Insanely expensive but absolutely the best view and food in Rome. Impeccable service. The nine course tasting menu is an adventure that frequently changes but has imaginative combinations such as raw tuna on amaranth grain and pea puree or suckling pig's cheek with crispy chili flavored rice. The dessert course is like saying "I will have one of everything." Ordering the wines by the glass option with the tasting menu is the best strategy.
Ono of the best table in Italy. Great view of Rome. Try ravioli "carbonara" a beck's version of the tradictional italian dish.
Heinz Beck's highly skilled hand is evident at La Pergola, in his ability to produce outstanding dishes which do not weigh too heavily on the palate or the stomach. The whole roast duck for two is served moist on the inside and crispy on the outside in three small courses, for example, and to compensate for its intense richness, the famous Pergola pasta dish is sensibly sized. A fantastic value at 130 Euro per person including wine.
The tasting menu is incredible and consists of far more than the nine-course meal advertised. The service is incredible; the view spectacular; the courses inventive, creative, and on the whole delicious. Even when one misses, you don't lament it because it will be unique. The cost of the meal is substantial--but if you enjoy and value rich, creative, attentive dining experiences, it is well worth every euro.
The tasting menu is superb and service top notch. The nine course tasting menu covers all food types, but it's really closer to 12 a course meal - we had three desert courses at our meal. Rather than spend mega dollars on wine, let the wine steward select wines by the glass that you can enjoy throughout the meal, we found the wine done this waya bargin at 200 euros for two. Best food in Rome by far.
