We arrived at 8.15 and left at 10, having not been fed. The kitchen had not received our order and the supercilious waiter had not noticed. Strange: we were in the main room where only 4 of 6 tables were taken on a Saturday evening. When we complained they brought two starters of which only one was correct. Neither was very good. We waited another 15 minutes after we finished the starter, and left. We paid 105 euros for the indifferent wine.
have traveled the world and this is the most horrific experience I have had. I had booked a party of 10 and at the last minute I had to cancel 4 people. I was told it would be 400 EU. So I tried to find some people to fill the spot and called when I did. Our table was not available and the owner was miserable. A World Class restaurant! Fantastic food and service--they never forget a name. Two hints: 1) eat in the "main" room & 2) don't ever miss the entrees. Much too sophisticated for the average tourist. Don't miss it.
Very traditional Austrian food although somewhat lackluster. Great setting and service. Great place to impress visitors especially with prices!
The service is superb. Our waiter remembered us every year for the last 20 years. The entree (apetizer) trays are modest compared to the 100 varieties of yesteryear but still good. The food is good but the menu is dated. Although it is advised to have reservations, it is usually not necessary excpet in the ultra high season. Definitely a tourist destination. The wine list has suffered over the years but the "out of stock" are clealry marked
