Anthony's La Mesa never offered "high quality" seafood, but as a family restaurant, it was OK. Our family has eaten there for twenty years. Our last visit in October 2009, though, was extremely disappointing except for the servers who cannot improve the increasingly marginal food. Dinner salad that used to be included? Now an additional charge. Watery fish, stale bread, ersatz butter. Long John Silver is a better dining experience. Blech!

The Fishette is the outdoor fast-food-style restaurant of Anthony’s. We had clam chowder soup, fish tacos and a combination dish (2 tacos, white rice, black beans). The food was ok, better than the usual fast-food menu, but not great. What we really loved was being right on the water. If you’re in the mood for fish and you don’t mind small portions and fast food, go there. Ideal for a quick stop while visiting the marina. The view is gorgeous.

Over priced tourist trap go to the fish mart for good food & service
