Fantastic decor with tons of character. Love the juxtaposition of the cozy "bohemian cavern" style bar downstairs with dim candlelit table and the bright swanky upstairs, with intimate seating and cool ambiance. Friendly staff, excellent beer and the Shrimp and Grits appetizer is an excellent and unexpected treat! Will be returning soon.

Any trip to Brewer's Art normally requires two things: Resurrection Ale and Rosemary Garlic Fries. The food is good but sometimes uneven with many dishes not found in the standard brewery or pub type restaurants. The night scene is often a reserved yuppie crowd that is a top spot for a low key drinking night. Many of the home brews are worth trying, with the Resurrection Ale seemingly most everyone's favorite.

The seafood entrees were disappointing--overcooked, dry tuna, and a pintado dressed with leeks from which not quite all the sand had been removed. Stick to the beer which is excellent.

The food is acceptable, the decor could use some improvement, the service was terrible. I sat at the bar and the bartender, who used to be a busboy, was very rude to me but nice to others. I had invited a friend, who is Caucasian, the bartender was nice and polite to him, but condescending to me. My friend insinuated that perhaps the bartender was racist. I said, he is behind the counter, not me; he is working for tips; not me.
