NEW YORK IN RIDGEFIELD? CONSISTENTLY FINE SUSHI BUT EXPENSIVE AND YOU MAY LEAVE HUNGRY. THE BEST SUSHI IN RIDGEFIELD, SO ORDER MORE THAN YOU WOULD NORMALLY AND, OF COURSE, EXPECT TO PAY CONSIDERABLY MORE. SERVICE IS EXCELLENT. NO BETTER SUSHI IN RIDGEFIELD. Update: New owner, new name (Junmai), and mediocre at best.
This is one of the best Sushi places in Fairfield County. It's set close to Candlewood Lake, but with no view of it. The building's outside is a bit like a big shabby/rundown bar but the inside decor is very nice with modern interior design elements. The service is good and refill water often. My last plate of Sashimi was very fresh up until the last piece of Tuna- which was uneatable; chewy with freezer burn. I highly recommend this place.
High quality food and very good lunch specials. Sedate and quite, with a decent elegance. Service can be somewhat hit or miss but the food has not been equalled in my visits to other westchester sushi bars
I like Koo quite a bit but do admit it's a little overpriced. The one thing I know I will get from here is consistently good and fresh sushi or sashimi. Their lunch takeout is offered at very reasonable prices. Dinner is on the expensive side but it's almost worth it. The noise level is high so it would be great if Koo could do something about that.
Not cheap, but I guess you can charge if you are in Rye, despite my aversion to pay more for something that I can get in Mamaroneck, or New Rochelle that is just as good. That being said, if you want a quaint, well situated japanese treat, Koo is a good choice. The freshness is clear, the attentiveness is considerable and the decor is upscale. Don't expect stellar anything, be ready to be pleased.
