With all the hype printed here about this restaurant, we were very excited about our upcoming dinner. The decor is ok with cheap, uncomfortable chairs. Schnitzel was tough and overcooked. Waitress embarassed my child for not liking his appetizer and did not offer an alternative or take it off the bill. This is a two star restaurant with five star prices. Don't walk- run away!
We had a party of 3. Two of the entrees were well-prepared. The 3rd, the evening feature, Sea Bass, was tough and chewy. The waitress took our dinner and dessert orders, and dashed by the table with a quick "how's everything?" - but that's all we saw of her. The orders were delivered by runners who auctioned all 3 courses. There were no linens on the table, making a loud room even louder. The kitchen ventilation left much to be desired.
Had dinner here New Year's Eve. By far the best meal we had while on vacation in this area. Menu is unique and the food is spectacular. Attentive service and we were never rushed. A treasure
The best meal I had all week was at Johannes, which is curiously rated lower than Le Vallauris and Okura for food. Johannes may not have the best decor or service, but it's menu, food, and presentation were by far the most inventive (and delicious). The wine list was unusual, listing vineyards I had never heard of. Johannes is my personal favorite in Palm Springs.
Horrible service!!! Busboy was serving food and spilled several sauce on us; then wiped up the floor and then tried to wipe off my pants with the same towel. No clue of how to decant a wine. Just emptied the bottle into the decanter as fast as it would pour. The owner/chef was in denial and was extremely arrogant. One of the worst dining experiences we have ever encountered.
