Le Paradou proves that classic French cuisine is alive and well in DC. And Chef Yannick Cam can usually be found in the kitchen, unlike some other places in town. The room is formal, yet welcoming and the staff well trained and gracious. The buffalo mozzarella- heirloom tomato salad is the best in DC. The duck and roasted squab with foie gras are also recommended. It a great venue for a special occasion!
If you want to show off and waste a lot of money while being underwhelmed by the taste of glamorous looking dishes, this is definitely the place to go. The chef & most of the staff are so impressed with themselves they think "more highly of themselves than they ought." When you go there, make sure to meditate on the gorgeous Chihuly chandelier - this is what you are paying for, not the quality of the cuisine. This place is extremely overpriced!
Good food and good service - but not great. Overpriced for the quality. Other customers seemed underdressed informal - not really the experience we wanted expected based on the menu/price.
What a clip joint! From the thimble-sized cocktail to the miniscule portion of scalllops to the $13 desert of un-trimmed strawberries and raw apples, this was a major disappointment. Combine the mediocre food with haughty waiters and you have a recipe for indigestion! Never again! I can't understand why it was busy on an evening in August.
Truly a rare find. As good as Michel Richard at a fraction of the cost. A sublime experience ... French cuisine worthy of 3 Michelin stars and far more accessible than a trip to Paris. Yannick Cam is a culinary genius !
