Eco-friendly? Eco-responsible? Since they use wood burning equipment noxious fumes are spewed over the Boulder downtown area 7 days a week. Google "wood burning and cancer" then ask why. The cooking method should be just as important as using local produce. How about protecting the environment The Kitchen !
Great food but haughty service. My lady wanted to enjoy their Sunday Brunch, and after waiting for a table for a half hour, requested their special hot cereal, only to be told we were 10 minutes late and it was no longer available. Remarkably, even coaxing and asking for intervention by the Mgr and Chef couldn't get the requested breakfast item from the kitchen. Food is good, but be forewarned - you'll only get it on their terms, if at all.
Strolling down Pearl with no reservation on a Friday night, we sauntered in and sat at the bar and were blown away by the great wines, great food (salmon for me, pasta for my wife) and terrrific, friendly and interactive bartenders who challenged us with tastes galore.
Stopped by for lunch. Excellent choices for "eco-friendly" food (you'll know what I mean when you see the menu). The decor is a treat - everywhere you look there are nice touches like the rustic tables with modern chairs. It all works. I had lamb for lunch (I don't think you can get beef here). I liked my lunch but wasn't blown away, although I guess would try this place again.
I was timid about trying this restaurant because of the reviews and the fact that it sounded almost too "Boulder". I was very pleasantly surprised. Both the food and the service were excellent. We even found a parking place in front. I would definitely recommend the restaurant.
