The person below me is clearly of the intellectual variety, I noticed that with their spelling of the word "weird" as "weired".
The "choking-dry" bread they mentioned is fresh daily from Matt Prentice's Sourdough Bread Factory.
I guess it's possible to have a bad experience, but Zagat rated this as the BEST steakhouse in Michigan, so if I were you I would completely disregard all comments from "Baseelo" clearly they don't have a clue.

Totally unwelcoming atmosphere!! Disinterested waiting staff. Crowded, weired, smoke ridden. We really don't know where they got the idea of their "choking-dry" bread from. We had a case of double misunderstanding between us, the waiter and the chef in our first and last visit for dinner. The waiter " totally lost" was nice and bought us a dessert because he forgot one of the items that we ordered. The rating should be 18-18-15!!

Locally called Novi Chop House instead of No. VI Chop House, this establishment is not for the unsophisticated palate. Everything is elegantly understated from the soft gray, spacious decor to John Coltrane playing softly in the background, as well as the discreet, personable and low-keyed wait staff. From the seared Ahi appetizer to the perfectly cooked medium rare filet mignon, the meal was impeccable. $250 for dinner for 2, no dessert.

The wait staff and manager was friendly and professional. The dining room was filthy, another plus for dim lighting. (do yourself a favor and don't look close at anything) The salads were limp and browning, the oysters freshly shucked within the last few days and the steaks were over cooked and tough, although half of mine was ok. The sides were dismal except for the asparagus. Heavy uninspired food at best with premium prices.

Wait staff, although kind, untrained, disappearing frequently. Fortunately for us, the water service staff helped seek her out. Menu aims much higher than should be expected. The roasted chicken dry & flavorless. The creamed spinach side was absolutely abysmal. When bringing this to the waitresses’ attention, she agreed. Unless you are stuck in this part of town, & this is the only restaurant open, I suggest you keep heading elsewhere
