It seems that, with the severe decline in business at Cru - most days its practically empty - everyone from the reservation hostess to the sommelier is getting surly and uncooperative. This unwelcoming attitude would seem only to accelerate a further downward spiral at a place that, on the basis of wine program alone, probably deserves to be shored up.
Well, the worst restaurant experience for the money ever in my 20 years of dining across the nation. Bad service, bad atmosphere, and deceptive dealings. Chose the 7 course meal, asked if it included the wine pairing, was told yes at 165 per person, only to find out at the end that the wine was NOT included and rang our bill up for two for 800 dollars. STAY AWAY!
We expected an outstanding wine experience and we were not disappointed. We asked them to select 3 bottles during the course of our meal and they could not have been better. The food was very good, straightforward and well prepared if a bit traditional with flavorings carefully selected to compliment the wines. The number of entrees was fairly limited. Our servers were friendly but very professional and I would rate the service as perfect.
Gread food and menu . Loved the tasting and would come back in a heartbeat
Tasting Menu and Wine Pairings are well thought out and executed . The wine list is very good and worthy of experimenting . Service is mediocre and the wait staff has an indifferent attitude
