A lovely addition to the Capital Hill scene. Good food, comfortable bistro environment, innovative dishes. Team services means a different person may deliver your food than the one who took the order. Waiters were comfortably attentive without being overbearing with attention and introductions. I plan to go again and bring my husband.
One of the best on the Hill for Dinner; however, skip the brunch, it is over-priced and the food is mediocre at best. Apparently, breakfast is not a big deal in Belgium, or at least as translated to the Belga Cafe: You have been warned!
Not your typical Brussels "moule et frites" place since it presents a full menu of creative and interesting Dutch-Belgian fare. The beers are the real stars here, a worthy sampling of the 400 or so Belgian brews and a few from elsewhere (why bother?). Excellent value and fun dining.
Had an excellent meal at this gem in Southeast D.C. As a customer you benefit from the reasonable pirces since the location is not in an uppity neighborhood of Northwest as well as the delicious, authentic Belgian fare that can be quite creative. We will be back for sure.
I'm not sure what politicos know about cuisine, but I'm pretty confident in this reviewers comparison to actual Brussels mussels restaurants ... that is, they know how to prepare moules frites. Even better, they can do this in a variety of styles which all deserve ones' attention. It's a busy place, so service can be brusque, though some waiters here are personable & well beyond competent. The beer selection is worth exploring. F23 D20 S22
