I'm still asking myself why this mediocre restaurant is on zagat's top

Went last night, going again tomorrow. Best restaurant we've been to here in Venice. Try the Gorgonzolla, pistachio pasta. Delicious pumpkin, shrimp risotto with truffle...ohhhh baby...ravioli with rocket and ricotta was very good...good deserts. reasonable cost...many locals and not too many tourists. We stay at Ca Gottardi which we love and they recommended it. Also try a local place called Casa Mia off Campo Apostoli.

The food at this Venetian restaurant was excellent. The prices was definitely cheap in Europe standards. Please have the Concierge at your hotel try to guide you to the restaurant. I took a water taxi to the restaurant and it was almost as expensive as the bill itself. :)

Try Alle Testiere or Da Ivo for much better casual dining ... the da Gigio's food is cheap but mediocre. If you're willing to pay for the best go to Fortuny or Club del Doge.
