Quite literally, it is all about the ocean view at this Waikiki beach front tourist destination. Sadly, Duke's offers little more to patrons than a pretty view and fruity cocktails. The food quality is absolutely terrible. Nonetheless, despite frequent crowds, the service is reasonable and timely. Somehow Duke’s formula for success must strike a chord with many -- despite lackluster food quality, patrons keep returning, if only for an ocean view.

An ok place for a "quicker" dinner as a new arrival. A tad noisy but very unpretentious. I found no standout dish nor a "must go back" but it should be an "and also go there" restaurant in a good location. Kid friendly and good choices for kids.

The cost is okay - $25 per person or so. The food was really good and the service excellent. The decor is awesome. The only complaint I have is re: the Mai Tai's. If you're looking for a good drink (Mai Tai or Tai Chi), head over to "The Tavern" which is right around the corner.

The saving grace for Duke's is that it is exactly what you expect, average food, large crowded restaurant in a great location.
