Fabulous food, beautifully presented with attentive service in a comfortable room. Saturday lunch menu an excellent bargain - otherwise prices beginning to get a little too steep!
Simple decor with just the right touch of elegance. Chef is a master an combining unusual ingredients for a whole new twist on dishes that requires a finely-tuned sense of food style. Only miss was the Dover Sole which was over-powered by flavor of cauliflower. Service varied between absentminded to overpowering.
An extremely rare combination of exquisite, technically brilliant food and unpretentious attitude- you can feel as comfortable pitching up in casual clothes for an informal weekday dinner as dressed to the nines for a special occasion. The staff's only concern in either case is to create a superb culinary experience. For this reason my favourite restaurant of this genre anywhere in the world.
Dark and classy if not terribly fancy interior. Staff was friendly for the most part. Food though was quite good, and I would call it "French with British Influence". Had a wood pigeon raviolo, which was rich and flavorful, and a pork dish which with complex layers of flavor and a mouth-watering texture. On the other hand, the monkfish dish was noticeably underseasoned. Banana dessert was excellent though. Not the best in London but very good.
We dined at several of the top 10 Zagat rated restaurants during our visit to London. The Ledbury was the best of them all. Some of the others had more of an attitude but none had food this good and service that was attentive but not too intrusive. If you don't try this one (get the tasting menu) your missing out on a real jewel.
